White tailed deer flash the underside of their tails when frightened. I approached quietly and decided to use a telephoto lens. As I was changing lenses, a large truck went by along the highway, scaring the animals. Now you can see how they got their name.

1. Off they go.

2. One (on left) decides it isn't worth running off.

3. The others are wondering why the last isn't following.

4. Oh. Alright. I'll join you.

5. But then again, maybe not.
