Tamarack (Larch)

The tamarack or larch is the only conifer in our area that has needles which change colour in the autumn and will lose all of the needles before winter.

Thanks for posting these remarkable trees. The Tamaracks really stand out in a forest and they turn such a lovely colour in the fall. Some keep their needles for most of the winter around these parts. Beautiful shots!
