Day 2 of the #PhotoBlog365 challenge. New coffee mug. This picture doesn't do it justice though.
On the theme of being lazy, and in efforts to be less lazy in my photography, I've decided to be "lazy" with editing in this challenge, today going forward (I admittedly used Lightroom to finalize yesterday's images). The use of software in digital photography has made me a lazy photographer, and as someone who started their photography journey in the digital realm, rather than film, this makes me disappointed in myself. I can do better.*
Another note on the theme of being lazy in digital photography- I took 27 shots of this coffee mug. Twenty-seven. Holy cow. I need to chill out with that as well. Perhaps, in an effort to be less lazy in my photography, I shall limit myself to 3 shots of the same thing.
In terms of how I'd improve this photo- lighting. There are brilliant reds and oranges to be seen near the top of the mug. The texture can kind of be seen, but appearance of depth is very limited. But alas, I'm being lazy today, so this picture will have to do.
*Note: I'm not opposed to editing software. I think it's a brilliant gift that offers many possibilities, but as someone with limited photography experience, I think it's in my best interest to leave technological helpers like Lightroom out of the equation of this challenge. This is only my personal preference. You do you.
