photoblog365 - green. Like Bjorn, I noticed how many challenges might use my garden plants as the subject. So, to do something different with this challenge, I used my drone for all these shots. In the first 3 images, I also experimented with Lightroom in post to add some blur to the house.

We replaced our lawn with these drought tolerant plants during our recent drought.

Hey Bob, this is the first drone photography I‘ve seen on Photoblog (ok I have only been here for 3 months…) It looks good. I have so msny questions like, how do you release the shutter? Is it a remote control with an LCD screen?

It's a DJI Mavic Pro, and is labeled "Prosumer", meaning it has lots of professional grade features at a consumer price - a little over $1000.  The remote has a holder for a cell phone or small tablet and you can see what the camera is seeing.  The drone has what is called a "gimbal" (if you know what that is) which moves the camera in an equal and opposite direction from any sudden movements on the drone.  Photos and videos are very very sharp.  I use the drone primarily for videos.  It has a fixed aperture, so if you don't want to shoot "auto" (which works excellently), then you only have ISO and shutter speed under your control.  Anyway, the remote has separate buttons for either photo or video.

Hi Bob, that's really interesting! thanks for all the details. I admire that you can fly the drone and concentrate on taking photos at the same time, I think that'd be too much for me! Indeed, the quality of the photos is very good
