So this guy may not in fact be a bird, but he is black and I'm certain I heard him say "Nevermore" at least two times.

So this guy may not in fact be a bird, but he is black and I'm certain I heard him say "Nevermore" at least two times.

While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
Tis some visitor," I muttered, "tapping at my chamber door —
Only this, and nothing more.”
Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore."

― Edgar Allan Poe, The Raven

I almost did the Raven! But I wasn‘t really sure if the black bird in one of my photos really was one…

I responded to Camellia before saw your response.  See my note below to her.  I had intended on using a hummingbird.  I call that "photographic license".  grinning

We don't have black ones here  but you definitely were able to match it to Raven. Well done!

I sat for close to an hour with a telephoto lens focused on our hummingbird feeder.  I had intended to use one of those birds as my "raven", but none showed.  So after that long wait, the squirrel showed up and came to my rescue.   I had also planned on doing a photo of my wife atop her horse at a "Y" in the trails where our horses live - the "taking the road less traveled" poem - but we didn't make it to the ranch today.  Sigh . . .   confused

OK, watch for it.  I'm not sure what I  might change by then, but it will definitely include a horse.  grinning
