This was a tough photo day. We were in a covered arena with a VERY bright sun outside.
Our mounted search & rescue unit held our monthly horse training session today. This one was some very simple obstacle training because we were then going out on a trail ride to work on some formation exercises. I was pretty busy during the trail ride, focusing on the task, so most of these photos are the arena warm ups.

We often have to open and close gates while mounted. This is a simple way to practice it.

Back in and turn the horse around without touching the poles.

This horse is admiring himself in the mirror.

We split up into smaller groups for the trail exercise in order to not hold up traffic when we cross streets.
Nice shots! This brings me back to when I still competed. Trail was my favorite discipline! :)
That's pretty much all we do as well. I got into Search & Rescue because of the tremendous sensory training that they give the horses. My guy is so solid that I just about never think about him taking off. He pretty much trusts me to keep us out of danger.
Wonderful that you have that kind of trust! Horses are such amazing animals :)
