Two stories today. The first is that my home in San Jose is at the south end of what is called Silicon Valley - home to most of the Hi Tech companies in the world.
This road is my main artery leading to the freeway. During rush hour, it is packed with folks going to work. But now, they're doing long overdue road repair for the next few weeks - and they do that in between the morning and evening rush hours. So, traffic on this road is now nearly grid-lock from sun up to sun down. Sigh . . .
This 2nd group of photos shows one of the wealthiest streets in San Jose. Huge custom homes on a wide street. The residents didn't like through traffic on their street, so they got the city to ban cars from crossing every main thoroughfare, requiring cars to turn either left or right (notice the street sign in the upper right). However, as you'll see in the next couple of photos, we do have our share of scofflaws.
