Do you find that you are one of those people that cannot function properly in the morning without first having a coffee or tea? You hear expressions about how people are unable to start their day without first having a coffee, like they are incapable of functioning without the flow of caffeine running through their system.
Now don't get me wrong I love a good cup of coffee, especially a good White Mocha or Cappuccino, but I don't think that it is a necessity to embark upon the day. There are many things in this world that I think are more important than caffeine in the system to start the day including a healthy breakfast, maybe a walk or run and some time with God. Those sort of things can put you in the right position to start your day and place you in the right mindframes to impact others with a more positive outlook.
However, I think that a good coffee can be a great addition to some positive activities and character building moments. I have had many amazing conversations over a coffee (at many popular coffee venues) that have either put the world to rights, encouraged me, supported others, been precious memories with a loved one and been defining in my spiritual growth. They have also been there to see me through many hours of reading literary fact and fiction, write essays, diaries, journals and notes as well as edit photos and build friendships.
Coffee, like music or films in my opinion, can bring people together and is a key component in social development, but I don't think it is vital to start your day.
What do you think?
