Idilevo & Sevlievo, Bulgaria - 2014

As our time in Europe was coming to an end we enjoyed "hanging around" the village of Idilevo. We rented an apartment from a British couple who lives there for several years now - Andy & Debbie. Every Friday there is a "farmer's market" in a nearby town of Sevlievo. We like shopping for fruits and vegetables there.

Welcome to Idilevo! We stayed in the house just on the left, in the background.

The view of the house from the main road leading to the village. The left portion is occupied by the owners, the right portion is the apartment for rent. A really cozy place!

Artistic sign on the gate to Andy and Debbie's house. Beautiful, isn't it?

Typical sight every morning in Idilevo.

Honey, cheese, hazelnuts, wild rose fruits, bee wax, prunes and very unusual squashes. All that and a LOT more available at the Farmer's Market in Sevlievo.

Lady weighing some mushrooms.

Copper "still" for distiling rakija (a national Bulgarian liquor).

Picking sweet and sour cherries with a very good friend Nadejda. We collected at least 2 pounds (1 kg) in a short time.

The next day Justyna baked a delicious Polish-style cherry cake.

When the harvest time comes you can see a lot of "these" on the roads - BIG tractors pulling a special cutting device behind it.
