Horseback riding in Texas

One of my biggest dreams was fulfilled last October in Marshall, Texas. I got to ride a horse on a beautiful trail in the hills, through creeks and pastures. What a fantastic ride it was! The weather was perfect. The place and the company were amazing!

Steve grew up riding horses in East Texas. His family owned a few horses. He is very comfortable around them. I was close to horses only a handful of times. Once I sat on one for about 5 minutes. Steve arranged a horseback riding lesson for me and a trail ride for both of us with a nice lady named Vicky Ives. As it turned out (Steve's brother had to remind him that) many years ago Miss Vicky gave Steve and his brother their very FIRST horseback riding lesson. She is a tremendous rider, horse trainer and a teacher. She has been around horses all her life and owns a gorgeous piece of land where she trains and boards horses. Many of them are pure Spanish Mustangs, descendants of the mustangs brought by the Spaniards to the United States in XVI century.

I felt very comfortable on my horse almost right away. He was so responsive and gentle. I couldn't have had a better time

After the ride I rewarded Astral with a bunch of carrots and apples. I think he enjoyed that.

I am more than happy to share contact to Ms. Vicky Ives, if you're interested in learning to ride a horse. Please, leave a comment below and I'll forward her info. She is a PRO in training horses and teaching horseback riding.

Update. I noticed that this "Comment Section" was turned off for a while for some unknown to me reason.
