i played here as a child

i know. i know. this is just personal memory, amazing for me, boring for all of you.

but i played here when i was a child, and it looks so different from my height today.

now the sand box we dug into with our scoops is full overgrown by grass.
the seedlings are mighty trees.
the shiny rocket we used for our first flights to the moon is rusty and dull.
and the house next to ours is a ruin, ghostly dark and spooky in the night.

i never want to go back.

my room was in the upper floor right

in my dreams, this place still looks huge, empty and free.

the fence wasn't there 40 years back, and the trees were seedlings.

the playground was all sand and no grass.

i remember those tires and the “whomp” sounds they made.

first blood was drawn from me on that swing.

somebody broke my right index finger with a stone when we were playing under this climbing frame

The thing i went to the moon with is rusting away.

Children memories are always very nice! I played in Bulgaria in the same shpere, but with no legs :). We had also rackets, boats, tracks from metal :)

This is why I look away when I pass the house I grew up (built by my parents)... It still looks ok, but other people living in there where I once dreamed about the future, and now their children do so. You seem to look back to your past pretty often lately. The older we get, the more we see through a "reversed telescope". No, it is not boring.

I think it's fascinating, yet depressing. (Complement/Critique)

AH, I understand now. No need for anything when we are children, we can go wherever we go.

They are not boring to me. They take me back to a similar place. I went back to my junior school once. I felt like a giant. I went to the moon in a thing like that except it was also a spider. Yours makes a better rocket
