the sun

these two pictures were taken in very different locations by very different cameras under very different locations:one by me aprox. 30m below the surface of the south chinese sea, while waiting for the sharks to arrive; the other by the SOHO [sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov] satellite, orbiting earth aprox. 1.5 mio. km away at the so called “first lagrangian point (L1)” while waiting for it's instruments to fail. this is, filtered in blue for better contrast, how the sun looks today.

this is the reason why we all are here.

Awesome! You are giving me the motivation to start studying for my planetary final. I love seeing the sun like that. You should look up multispectral images of the moon.

I prefer your shot. The other is a little too perfect or something. Yours speaks of being human though what the hell a human is doing 30m under the sea......
