planet sea

often i think that humanity has falsely named this planet “earth”.

the vast majority of its surface is covered by one big, interconnected ocean which rules more or less all of its climate, weather, atmosphere and thus, by all means, provides us with the most important element we need to survive: water.

everything we call “earth” and cling to so desperately, is actually just an island and we keep forgetting that the hard grounds we so often base our lives on are the results of billions of years of ongoing upwelling and vulcaneous outpours of the planet's crust. we live on planet “sea”, with a thin layer of air around it, building castles in the sky.

and we don't even realize, most of the time, that we are extremely lucky bastards calling a planet our home that has just about the right temperature, moisture, density, gravity and protection against the hard radiation in space.

let's not just shrug our shoulders about our own attempt to destroy it.

Somehow they remind me of time, how fast we are diminishing our future by abusing the earth. they look like earth-clocks, with the (unsuccessful) stiching line as hour-hand… tick tock tick tock…
