according to this list [toptenz.net], the human head isn't even mentioned in the top ten of the most useless parts of the body… and yet, i believe it should be #1. why?
most of us do all their thinking with their guts. some use their reproductive organs. a few their hearts. almost nobody uses the brain, and those rare exceptions that do, fail blatantly with producing any sense.
also, the collection of receptive organs it provides is ridiculously inadequate. about every other animal has better hearing, seeing, smelling, tasting organs, including faster and more reliable processing of input signals in their brains. humans hardly see any part of the spectrum of light, hear only a narrow band of sound waves, hardly can distinguish the smell of a rotten tomato from fresh ice cream and simply have NO TASTE at all, but will sluggishly babble on about the “earthiness” or “fruitfulness” of a 2009 bordeaux versus a 2010 rioja.
and finally, there seems to be little to none aesthetic values in human heads. i mean… yes of course, we react on the child's schemes of big eyes, symmetric features, nice complexion and i don't know what other biologically implanted characteristics we're programmed to. but in terms of beauty, where do heads compare to arms, legs, the back and it's lower end, even a nice six pack belly with a pierced belly button? why do you thing there is fetishes for all of these body parts… but NO fetish for heads?
seriously people… let's all loose our heads.

i love the title headbubble
i was never so aware of the human head until my siblings started having children and all the sudden some of them had extra big heads and needed to be tested and then there were the "soft spots" you had to be aware of.
i like your ideas better.
