the lucid brain

according to modern neuroscience (which doesn't know everything), our brains do not produce reality, but they translate reality into something neatly structured, which we can cope with.

thus, rationality (your thoughts and wise decisions) and irrationality (your feelings and impulse buys) both play a similar important role in dealing with an otherwise utterly insane world, in which mother nature, the bitch, is constantly trying to kill you.

but the brain isn't everything, it is not the master of your body. there is a whole entity called YOU that consists out of supporting organs with all kinds of functions. the question is; what for does this whole organism exist? just for itself, in autistic solemnity? for the greater good of the species? for life itself?

i don't know the answer. but at least, i'm glad we got out of the food chain. :-)

Isn't it interesting that here we are with all we have learned and yet NO ONE can prove "why"... perhaps there isn't a reason... or maybe there is and some day we get let in on the joke? 8^)

i like the big lit up rather neon brain.

i just went to a 2 and a half hour meditation workshop on sunday and was amazed at what my brain put me through.
