the sky above

why do we think so territorial? why do we believe that there is the slightest difference in our respective existence in poland, turkey, venezuela or new guinea? why should it make a difference if we are born northern, southern, east or west? why do we define ourselves so furiously about where we have been born or raised or found our luck? why do we insist on being special, wherever we are and whatever we may have achieved? why do we make a fuzz out of the climate, the weather, the landscape, the urban or rural advantages of US versus THEM? why do we shut down our borders, insist on customs, controls, channeling, trade routes and bilateral agreements? why does it make so much sense for us to think in languages that exclude our neighbors? why does skin color, nose length, eye position play any role in trusting someone or relying on her qualities? why have we divided the resource cake we all thrive upon in such arbitrary chunks? why are we so afraid of having less than our neighbor, keeping ahead of the pack, compete with each other? why do we wave flags with meaningless symbols for values we have never lived out ourselves, just inherited from some aristocrat or politician generations ago? why do we cheer for our colors and boo those of the others, who have trained and survived and loved and hated as much as we do? why does "i am proud to be german/hungarian/english/chinese/egyptian/argentinian " make any sense at all?

we all rotate under the same sky, the same stars, the same sun and moon.

Why?
It seems to me in a general and reducing way, the human being always had the idea that HIS country was better that the others (Idea anchored well in its genes;) ) that it was necessary to protect it from any outside attack that it is political, philosophic, cultural or spiritual. It is that I shall call the stupidity...But maybe I am wrong.
