A stage

I shot this photo in Split. We have been in a restaurant near the harbor and we had a great view at the southern facade of the Diocletian’s Palace. In the Roman Period it rose almost directly from the sea. Today a promenade with restaurants and a park lays between the harbor and Palace. The Palace – it still rose high up to at least in the second or third floor – is visible in the background.

I liked the combination of the original Palace and its reconstruction on a billboard in the forefront. The curtain, the ivy and the cat act as the frame to a stage like scene.

I also like the way you've framed the Palace

This "damn" Palace is a archaeological dream, therefore I couldn't stop to photograph it. I almost forgot to eat ...
