Flea market in the 7th district of Vienna! I'm obsessed with flea markets. I would drive miles with the car, if I had to, but this flea market is twice a year in May and September almost on our doorstep. A short walk to the location and then a walk through Neubaugasse. I only missed it twice: when my father was hit by a stroke and when my mother was in the middle of chemo therapy. So, yesterday I was celebrating Christmas-Easter-birthday-New Year together.
It’s not about buying, it’s about finding things, get inspirations and walk through history. But yesterday I did buy some things I really (more or less) like.
I bought – again and of course - some photographs of women. I bought the last photographs in Padua - yes, even there I found a flea market - during our summer holidays in July. It's a addiction and I will never get clean! I got a "new-old" collectible dish for the office. And I bought some old apothecary card box (for powder or something like that). I’m sure my friend will love the little box. Maybe she will not notice, that there is a "67th Addams family member" - the 1960th-china-set with lots of gold - in the office.
By the way, I don't photograph during my "hunts" - but my husband does it and I always look like Gollum mumbling "PRECIOUS".
