Traveling with a photographer #1

by Sigrid Strohschneider-Laue November. 03, 2017 1407 views

My beloved husband did his own photo project during our visit in Croatia. I didn't notice it until it was too late to stop him. And now I'm glad, that I didn’t. He photographed me, every time I was occupied with my own camera to shot something or on my way – far away, ahead, above or somewhere else to find the next interesting spot.

My own little project will be to present my pictures, when he documented me behind my back. I will combine both photos. It must have been hard for him to follow his totally absorbed, obsessed, mad wife.

These are pictures from the roman arena of Pula. I saw some interesting inscriptions. During all periods of human history walls were something like a public area which can be transformed in a private painting and carving territory. Think about the early paintings in caves, inscriptions in Pompeii ("Lupus is an idiot"), desks in schools and murals from wannabe Banskys. This old inscriptions are proof, that in the "good old times" our great grandparents, grandparents and parents did exactly the same markings on walls as we did and our children will do. Think twice before you will scold them.

My husband is responsible for high places like towers. He has to climb up one billion stairs and take a lot pictures. He is also responsible for low light photos, because I'm not calm enough to take pictures without a tripod. In the end we have very different photos, because we see everything very different, even standing on the same spot. joy
