Squirrel

by Sigrid Strohschneider-Laue December. 24, 2017 1894 views

As soon as the days will grew more cold and unpleasant we will share our treasure hoard with the little greedy gold diggers. I love this moments, when little Scrat overcomes his fear and comes closer to fetch the walnut.

To feed and photograph a squirrel at the same time is like doing a magic trick. At first I have to change into something like an octopus with at least eight arms, which have to be quick and stealthy. I develop an expandable third eye in the forehead, which will focus the camera on the squirrel. After doing such extreme changeling-Odo-Trick for more than one hour everybody will see, that I'm a squirrel photographer, because I can't stop to look like Quasimodo for hours.

You are right - it looks a little bit like a "fairy tale" runaway. Do you know Carl Offerdinger? He illustrated fairy tales during the 19th century, on of his illustrations shows a squirrel (Wilhelm Hauff, Zwerg Nase) http://www.maerchenatlas.de/kunstmarchen/zwerg-nase/
Maybe this one is the chef!

Indeed! heart  Roland tried every time to stroke the belly of the squirrel. He hold the walnut a little bit tighter, meanwhile the squirrel has to work harder to get the walnut, he strokes the belly with a finger. I'm sure, one day he will be bitten ...
