Western Railway - Weekly Theme "Shape and Form"

by Sigrid Strohschneider-Laue January. 15, 2018 1743 views

I'm obsessed with technical structures from big oil factories down to electrical cables. It's their symmetry, the cold metal, obscure wiring and the opaque pieces of china or glass. They are strange as steam punk and unclear as an alien structure. They were a riddle wrapped up in an enigma during my schooldays, when my physics teacher must have thought, I would be a hopeless pupil. I still haven't the tiniest idea about their functions, but I love the pattern and shadows – it's the artistic side of transportation and industry.

This is a part of Western Railway (Westbahn), the electrified railway line (Vienna-Salzburg) in Vienna/Austria.

When Helen Hooker made up "Shape and Form" as the weekly theme (15–21 January), I knew, I would join the challenge with this picture - please join in with your picture too!
