Baltic Sea Collection

Today the weather was perfect – sunny and warm – therefore I stayed inside. I didn't want to wake up my body, which is still hibernating and not used to sunshine. But I was happy about the light. I photographed some remains of sea creatures, tiny shells, fish bones (including two flatfish jaws) and amber. I collected this tiny objects on the shores of the Baltic Sea and they may be very tiny pieces but they are perfect reminder of really big fun!

I can't lay on a beach or walk on sand without searching. I'm obsessed with searching. When we spent a holiday on Usedom (Germany), I couldn't stop searching for amber. It was like I was infected with a acute form of "gold rush". After three weeks I had a complete brown neck and back, but my face and front was still white as a bed sheet. Only my family had complete red heads every day, because they were constantly angry about me and my behavior. I was all day long crawling on my knees through the dirtiest parts of the beach, where the amber get stuck in the seaweed. I really became more foul-smelling everyday - I'm sure, a mermaid doesn't smell different. That is what I call a holiday after my taste! I was never bored, I had all the time some success, talked to other mad people like me.

thumbsup yes that's me! But I'm not as worse as some of my archaeological colleagues, which bury dead animals to recollect the bones after a few years - just for scientific purposes of course ...
