Orchid challenge #3

Maybe you want join the orchid challenge too?! I will post some orchids in the next days, like this orchid from Herrenhausen Gardens. I'm still sad, that most of the pictures from this extraordinary place are in a poor condition or more or less in a documentary state - caused by a mixture of overwhelming beauty, limited time, hectic personality (!) and the humidity in the hothouse.

At least I learned from this visit something very important: If you photograph a display item in an exhibition, always photograph the label too! Otherwise you can only describe this orchid as "Orange Sunlight Embryo".

If you are interested in orchids and want to know, how to care for them, please read - well illustrated with lot of pictures - instructions by ANDI.

Interessantes Exemplar !

Some real beauties but sadly I doubt I could ever grow one. Something about my thumbs and green plants ;)

Just like my mother? I don't believe it!
She really killed the last living orchid too! I asked her today and ... *sigh*

You guys are so inspiring, with these beautiful and unusual plants..I saw some in the grocery store yesterday and almost bought them, but then I remembered I suck at houseplants so they will live far longer in the store than they would at my house. Keep the photos coming !

Yesterday I was with my parents, today - before I drove back to Vienna - I asked my mother: "Where is the orchids Fong gave to you?"
*sigh*
All I told ANDI about killing orchids came true.
