Blowball

by Sigrid Strohschneider-Laue July. 24, 2018 1866 views

I'm obsessed with blowballs. Little seeds with parachutes - ready to fly. They are such delicate star like structures. Woven from moonlight or silvery silk. Nevertheless they are withstanding rain and wind. The parachute, the feathery bristles are called pappus (old man). Sometimes they form "cotton" balls and roll like tumbleweed.

#2 Makes me think of the days I use to daydream instead of doing school work .

Daydreaming is creative school work! Everything else is just boring stuff you have to do to make a tiny target group (teachers, parents) happy.

The issue was mom was the teacher and the parent so I had to tread lightly lol.

Sh*** - I should ask Victoria, what she thinks about her dad being a father and a teacher. *sigh*

In #2 they look like umbrellas turned upside down

I think they work particularly well in black and white - it helps to illuminate the structure better I think. All the better for seeing something woven by moonlight grinning

Kisses of the dandelion.

Now I know it's also
called the blowball;

It's summer's snow
and wishes for all;

All over, they flow
Everyone they call:

Make a wish,
from your heart;

then blow a kiss,
let miracles depart;

and lo, your gifts!
all true, sweetheart heart decoration
