Red, Rosé, White

The Weinkost in Lutzmannsburg is all about wine, but there is more. After buying a glass, which will become a nice and useful souvenir afterwards, visitors will buy coupons. The wine has to be paid with these coupons. Music, food and art is an additional entertainment.

People come together, doing business, having fun and even dance. Of course I tried to photopgraph this too, but in the evening it became more and more complicate: A big crowd and low light is not to my advantage.

The next wine event will be different. In November will be "Tag der offenen Kellertür". This "Open Cellar" event is an opportunity to visit the wineries. The new and the old products can be tasted direct in the cellar. Maybe we will have enough spare time to visit this event too.

800 years in Lutzmannsburg - but wine is produced for at least 2.500 years in this region.

Great photos. Love the table legs. Did you take these on a tripod or free hand? The last one #6,  caught my eye because of the shutter speed.

No, I didn't use a tripod - too many people. I was surprised, that it turned out this way and not became something like "alcoholic tremor" - maybe it's because the camera has some more weight and it is easier to hold it calm and steady.

I love the souvenir glasses. I think I would have had to buy a set to take home. And the tables are brilliant; I want one of those too. We don't have the weather for wine production and hence no wine festivals but we make up for it with beer and cider festivals beers

I love beer - especially the dark, black, bitter brews. *sigh*
Cider Festival? I'm used to Äppelwoi - which is the typical very sour cider in Frankfurt and Hessia.
It's as much a souvenir as a hidden "entrance fee". The first document, which mentioned "vineyards" in Lutzmannsburg is this year 800 years old. But in this region exist wine production at least since 2500 years.

My partner learned to drive this year - previously she had ridden big motorbikes. And when she passed her driving test she asked me where was the first place I wanted her to drive us to... she thought I was going to say some historic castle or something... my answer, Chase Distillery grinning
