Cheers!

Another colorful shot glass set crossed my path. No, I don't have an alcoholic problem. I have more or less a charming little hoarder with a little obsession for vivid colored drinking glasses of the 1940s to 1960s in my family. She is in luck, because I have this obsession to stroll through charity shops and flea markets as well as visiting garage sales. I found these really tiny shot glasses in a charity sale at Hilfswerk Wien. Fortunately, I don’t take always the same streets during Felix walkies so it was a happy coincident, that I found this sale rooms. Sadly, one glass of the set is missing and I can’t stop wondering about the color it might have been.

Yesterday, I tried to catch a sunbeam. I hunted this first spring ray for half an hour through the living room. It was almost like Peter Pan hunting his shadow. Hastily, I set up this little scene on the backside of an architect’s plan. Every time I picked the camera up, I had to move the still life a little bit. It wasn't exhausting but pesky. Now I'm envy everybody, who has a place to set up such scenes without moving them around once in a while.

When I scrolled through the pictures right now, I could see the ink of the plan shining through. Sh***, no chance to take better pictures. No light today and Victoria will get the shot glasses as a present.

At least I have the chance to play around with the pictures, enhance colors, contrast or do exactly the opposit ... Now I'm sure monochrome doesn't work at all and maybe the missing glas was pink!

Maybe it was pink ...

Maybe it was pink ...

In the e-mail I wrote Viktoria with the K.
I had the doubt... then I thought... "Oh well, it's German, OF COURSE they use the K"...
I was wrong!

Sorry ViCtoria! blue heart

Roland's grandmother was Italian and I prefer - o course - the Latin version. grinning
Btw. Vici smashed by accident some of the glasses. sob

I rather enjoy this series looks like it was quite fun to "play" with.

Indeed it was pure fun. But it was unprepared. The time was way to short for a better result. It would be easier, if I had a place, where I would be good light all day,  where I could store all photographic items and I would have enough space to arrange still lifes.
AND in my next life I will be a Billionare! smile

I just like them. Creative, nice colors and a good idea to play with.

I ask myself, why I'm never prepared for such things, but improvise. Could have been way better pictures. Now they are in another district of Vienna ...

No, because it's all about the hunt for items. I do not wish to own every knick-knack or junk in the world. I'm a passionate hunter for inteeresting things other people need: wooden and guilded frames for my friend Christine, elegant (new) jackets and shoes in very small - therefore hard to find! - sizes for my friend Petra, decorated ceramics back from the 1940s for my sister-in-law. It's like a different sort of field archaeology - a junk hunt ... Maybe there is a terrier in my ancestry, who isn't listening to its masters voice but to the call of the flea market?

Really nice idea and I think they turned out very very cool. I agree the monochrome does not do it justice but the rest are brilliant! My favorite is #1, the slightly darker background makes the shadows and the color of the glasses stand out.

You are right, I don't like the  monochrome at all. I hshould have choosen a different background. Sadly, I realized to late, that the drawing of the show cases is shining through. Next time I will be better prepared (maybe, eventually, I hope so ...)

I like the different effects caused by the prismatic glasses. In first one I would have cropped the two on the right, leaving only the RGB glasses

I did, but than there was this greedy part in my soul, which wanted all of them - although there is already one glass missing. But you are right. It would focus on the more colorful and clear shot glasses on the left. On the other hand I was sure and I'm glad you didn't fail to see the RGB sequence - I couldn't resist .... smile
