Not Only Heraldic Symbols Die Hard

by Sigrid Strohschneider-Laue May. 19, 2019 442 views

Time to grab my Zilla making the best of every tiny moment of dry weather and a little bit of sunshine to test the new lens.

Some time ago, I posted on Photoblog a new Trafik sign, but I have to admit, that this old one looks a lot more impressive. On the other hand it's not just "antiquated" to use the double-headed eagle, which in this case doesn't date back before the fall of monarchy at the end of WWI. It's the double headed-eagle of Austrofascism (1934-1938). Think about that! Nevertheles, in the end we can be glad, it's not still decorated with the well known infamous swastika, which is completely banned (until someone will open the frontdoor and a Nazi-flag will be visibly hanging down from the wall).

Do you also think it looks a little bit "goth & graveyard"? Sticking to the heraldic symbole of Austrofascism is political as die-hard as the Austrian’s soil brown soul beneath their blue paint on the outside. Yeah, maybe I should use it as a symbol for yesterdays downfall of Austria's leading far-right Party (inaugural leader was Reinthaller, who already had a political career during Austrofascism and Nazi regime) and their ruling neo-Nazis - thanks to good investigative journalism!

That's why I try to keep my focus on the present.....
I can't change the past and never know what may come to pass in the future........
Worry doesn't change or control anything......right???

I read about the fall of Heinz-Christian Strache in the news... such a shame... NOT! By the way, where does the church stand regarding the Freedom Party because I believe they were associates of the 1930s Fascists in Austria - perhaps they are too concerned with child abuse to get involved in politics right now?

I was surprised, when Kardinal Schönborn critisied e.g. the unsocial
decisions. The reaction towards him was ... let's say: neither
professional nor diplomatic.
