Ooops ...

by Sigrid Strohschneider-Laue June. 15, 2019 736 views

I did it again – I went to the flea market. I'm happy, because I bought 147 photographs and other worthless stuff I love so much. At home I began to play around with the objects and photographed some of them - ooops, I did it again: no tripod! Today it didn’t matter, because I didn’t care at all. Yes, I begin to calm down after the self inflicted hysteria about the imagined "camera sensor/mirror problem".

Fun fact: in the end I shot the best pictures of my lazy assistant.

Dogs, dogs, dogs ...

Dogs, dogs, dogs ...

What a fantastic set of old pictures, The gentleman with the big moustache made my day.  Also the young girl with the dog & mom, reminds me a little of my self in the mid-1950's.

Maybe, therefore I'm collecting portraits of women - less hair in the middle of the faces! neckbeard
A new travel!?! You have so much luck! I didn't even see all of the pictures of the last posts, because I'm still struggeling with all my given tasks. I have to catch up!

So cool! I love old photographs. A while back I selected a few of my family old photographs, printed them and have them around so I can see them everyday. Just bring back so many memories of yesterday.

My daughter has two old photgraphes of her greatgrandfahter and her great-greatgrandfather from my Mother's side of the family. Both of them are holding a cart horse, because they owned a transportation biz. Sometimes I ask myself: Did she hang this two pictures on the wall, because of the two men or the two horses. joy
I agree with you, old photgraphs bring back memories and help to hold on to memeories, as I see with my parents.

Gotta love old photos like that.   Of course, with the digital age upon us, our grandkids will never know old B&W photo albums.  smile

Oh yes, they will know, because people like us will keep the old albums! wink But I have to admit, that I only have very few pictures of my family, because most of them get lost during WWII. At least there are a lot of Roland's family.

Whoa... that is some VERY serious facial hair in #2. The trouble with old photos is wanting to know more about the subjects but knowing you will almost never will.

A beard of meaning and lot of "what ever glue is holding it together".
I'm often surprised about the information I can collect! Today I saw a old photo from the 1940s with a strange to-do-list on its back. 🧐
On the other hand there is often a less funny and also less informative writing on it like "Tante Betty". Sadly some of the information iy written right into the photo

Researching old photos is so funny. Once we bought a shoe box full with old photos. We managed to sort them: two families, chronological ...
The green bottle (1930-1950) and the champagne flutes (1950-1960) are presents for Victoria. Her collection of colorful glasses from this periode is growing ...
Felix, to lazy to open both eyes. ❤

I love to look at all sorts of photos. I always was and will be a interested audience. But the historic photos are just something, which gives me the fun of research.

I should take composition and still classes, but I fear, Christine, die Queen of stills, won't do it.

Love these! The framing, the colors, absolutely perfect. #2 the combination of the glasses and photo and colors are awesome. Of course your lazy assistant with one eye closed truly captures it all. I noticed that you have theme going when purchasing photos, not just some randomness. I think you really have a very cool hobby (collecting photos).

My best friend Christine and I collecting old photographies of women. Once in a while dogs or cats (seldom) are side by side with "their humans". We will buy them too, even the human is a male one ...
There is always a lot going on (the beard in #2 is just awesome) in this old pictures.
Yes, this lazy assistant became my body extension and he is really a perfect photo buddy.
