Naturpark Landseer Berge, which is situated in the southeast of Lower Austria and a small part of Burgenland, has a lot to offer. Foremost it’s a beautiful landscape, which is called Bucklige Welt (land of thousand hills) and part of the Eastern Alps. Besides activities as hiking and bicycling, sightseeing is popular in this region. Cultural hotspots are the so called Wehrkirchenstraße, which is a recommended route to fortified churches, the huge remains of castle Landsee and the impressive Celtic fortification in Schwarzenbach. Sadly the quarry Pauliberg, an extinct volcano, is closed for the public. I would love to have a closer look at basalt before it is shattered into pieces. I allready took a lot of picture of Landsee last year, but I didn't posted any of them except for the old cemetery.
Since we had to stay in November with my parents to take care for them another full month, we are lucky to have this region at our doorstep for short visits. At least we tried as long my parents were well enough to spend two hours alone at home. Nevertheless, most of the time we could only hunt down the fading light for half an hour in the afternoon. Sadly, most of the time it was impossible to go together for a photo walk at all, because lately crises emerging faster and developing more serious. Poor health and well advanced in old age - especially if they come together - are not easy to manage at all.
Actually, taking pictures is helping a lot to calm down and stay sane in head and soul. Sometimes it's impossible to go for a walk with my camera Zilla and Felix, therefore I took a lot pictures with my mobile, which were just good enough for Instagram.
