Drove yesterday (Easter Sunday) to rendezvous with a Scottish cousin in Sterling. Nice small town about an hour out of Edinburgh.

Stirling is famous for the decisive battle of Bannockburn, when Wallace lead the Scots to victory over the English. The monument to Wallace overlooks the town

Inside the tour is the sword of Wallace. He is still revered in Scotland

The view from the monument down towards the town and Sterling Castle. The bright side of the castle has been painted as it would have been in the 17th century. It will eventually all be painted

After a lengthy lunch with my cousin and her husband we went for a lovely walk. Many treees were in bloom and even a few bluebells. The day was unseasonally warm and we thoroughly enjoyed it

Had dinner last night with family friend, Elma. She lived with us in Scarborough 56 years ago when she did a teaching exchange in Canada. Nice to visit with her, as we try to do when we are in Edinburgh

This morning I did a quick drive to Perth. My grandfather was born on this lane way in 1881.

Along the main stree, just across from Horners Lane was this lovely old building. Not sure what it would have been in his youth, but a major building in his neighbourhood

Sadly, where his house would have been is now a parking lot for a small Tesco grocery store. Progress!!

Perth had a nice feel to it. Loved the steeple on this church along the town green, or park
