Arctic Bay, Nunavut

The view from the front of the hotel here. Nice to have the 24 hours of daylight but a little hard for sleeping! But the Bay is quite beautiful. We are on a very large fiord here, said to be the longest in the world. No trees up here and mostly rocks this time of year.

Really pretty location with a small hamlet of about 800 people. The large metal sea containers are used by people here for storage. Ubiquitous electrical wires everywhere in the hamlet.

Looking east towards the hills which surround the hamlet. This long weekend is the local fishing derby so the town will be very quiet. Hopefully we keep busy at the clinic

The view looking west. The nursing station, where I am working, is the large blue building. Note the shadows, which face south! The sun is up for 24 hours, and circles in the sky, giving a southerly facing shadow! Interesting to have 24 hours of daylight.
