Flew last night from Montreal to Brussels. Continued on this morning to Nice. Great views of the Alps as we got further south.

Coming in to land at Nice airport, at the top of the photo. You can see why the Côte d’Azur got its name from the light blue colour of the water, along the coast.

Coming around to land over the Mediterranean, you get a view, albeit hazy, of the Alps.

The view from our hotel, on Ave Victor Hugo. Nice has been a popular tourist destination and quite wealthy for many years. The Belle Époque homes are now offices and banks and hotels.

Nice building with palm trees in front. Definitely a warm climate

The stoney beach facing east. In high season this is full of tourists on lounge chair, which you rent by the hour! Nice and quiet now

Another view west, but we noticed the number of vapour trails from the busy aircraft along the riviera

This up scale apartment was fascinating. They had painted the end wall with faux art to look like the front. Very clever and not obvious until we got close

Ahhh lucky you ! Nice ...I love that town. Once I had a business trip to Nice, the best business trip I ever made. smile Such a beautiful town and the people over there have this wonderful "laissez-faire" attitude. Don't miss to watch the yachts in the marina. Enjoy your trip!
