Spending a lovely weekend in Prince Edward County, a peninsula in Lake Ontario. A belated birthday get away for Barbara’s birthday, after the lockdown. Tried to go swimming but got my feet in the water. Way too cold. Canada in June! But so pretty

Pretty to walk along the rocky shore

And trek along back roads.

Most of the centre of the peninsula is underdeveloped and very bucolic. So pretty. Hope it stays underdeveloped forever

Found a nice rose grower. Bought three roses for our garden

Went for dinner last evening at Lake On The Mountain Inn. The lake is fascinating. Located 60 metres above Lake Ontario, which surrounds it. The lake is 33 metres deep and a collapsed doline or sink hole with no apparent inlet. It is at the edge of a limestone escarpment.

A close friend of mine, Edna, grew up in Eastern Canada and became an excellent photographer. During many visits with her family, she created Christmas cards from her photos of PEI, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Quebec...and even Prince Edward County! And your photos are as beautiful and interesting as hers. Remember, I live vicariously through your fascinating travels far, wide and close to home. Keep 'em coming!

Thanks Loucy. It is an extremely pretty bucolic spot and we did relax there. Sadly, travel is still quite restricted but we are both due our second jabs soon. Next trip is planned for Nov, back to Provence, of course! Seems to be our home away from home. Do keep safe yourselves

Love the ”County”!  Over the years frequently went to Lake on the Mountain for Lunch.

Yes, enjoy the slower pace here, although there is development pressure from Toronto. But we are relaxing
