Yonge and Dundas

Sorry didn't get to write down the settings as it was a test roll and I was in a hurry

Story behind these shots: Went to Henrys downtown to pick up some crack … I mean photographic supplies. Next to it was a pawn shop with some cameras in the window. So I walked in chatted chatted with the owner nice Jewish guy with a lot of time on his hands (it was Saturday morning around 10AM) … I show him my Olympus XA, my Konica Autoreflex TC, and I tell him the story about how I picked up my first film SLR the Chinon for 10 bucks … He grins, reaches under the counter and pulls out an almost pristine Nikon F4. I touch it, and it's love at first sight … bells ringing, stars shining, heart pounding … :)

Much poorer a short while later, we chat and chat about cameras for another hour. As I get ready to leave, he gives me a firm shake, and with a twinkle in his eye asks me You want to see something else?

He then goes into his safe and pulls out an authentic Minox 35mm, those german made miniature wonders called spy cameras in the old days, with a pop out lens and gives it away to me for a few more dollars because that's all the money I had left by then.

Gave me a nice set of extra Lithium batteries for the f4 (he'd already given me a set to put inside to test it and let me keep them), several rolls of expired film and an integrated lens cleaner/brush as parting gifts.

I loved this trip :)

I like the last shot. I know what you mean about Henrys/crack. Good story.
