Cold front-related cloudy skies and rain in the Raleigh area this morning precluded a sunrise shot. In the alternative, my archive provided these stand-in shots, taken a year ago yesterday, also on a morning the sun was never seen… in the top image during late twilight with a very interesting distribution of color (better large on black [bighugelabs.com]), and above just four minutes later, after the show to the east was over, but when the low clouds to the north picked up some of the same great color (also better LOB [bighugelabs.com]). Sweet stand-in shots!
