When travelling to a place for the first time, you form an expectation of what it will be. You run through how it would be to photograph and how you would photograph it. The Amazon was no exception, had imagined thick rain forests, tall trees and little light.
The river was anything but what I had imagined. It was wast, open and the sheer wast surface of the water magnified the openness and the sense of light. Also not having surrounding landscape of any significant height, meant that wherever you were on the river, there was always an infinity point.
