NZ Series | Tunnel Beach all the way

by Julie Domingo July. 26, 2016 4840 views

Did I say last time...we took that one-hour walk down to the Tunnel Beach? Not the typical sandy beach though. So here's more for this episode before continuing with the hype of NZ Series. Also to explore more of the PB site. :)

The starting point of the beach walk-way is marked by this colorful mailboxes, catchy! Was askin, is one mailbox for multiple houses down there? ;)

Those colorful mailbox

Tunnel Beach walk way starts here!

Before startin the walk, we met a beautiful lady and I had to ask... "Is it really an hour walk?". She had to take some time to catch her breath as she just reached the top (lols!). And said "Pretty much yes - but it's all worth it - yes!" (catching her breath again as I was thanking her hehe). Well that's all we need to pursue the walk before drivin to the Dunedin airport! And the view started to get more and more breath taking...

Winter Accents

Looking back up the slope - I see this.

Tunnel Beach Mid-way

Looking down - I see this.

Dare you to stand at the edge of the cliff for an epic photo shoot! Will you? Hehe! He's one of my "Crazy" travel buddies. So glad to have two partners in craziness and see the beauty of the WORLD! :)

Sand Cliff/Arches

Would have went to the edge but it was windy I might be blown away! lols!

The Tunnel Access

Mandatory pose in the narrow dark tunnel eh? lols!

Sea Foam

Stepping out of the dark tunnel...this snowy white sea foams welcomed us!

Waves and Sand Cliffs

Waves after waves kept clashin into the cliffs creating that good rhythm and beautiful sighting!

More sandstone cliffs

They are this gigantic!

Photography lover against the cliff.

Surrounded with this natural beauty and wonderful ambiance which we much appreciated and absorbed...what's left to do is to SHOOT! He's my other "Crazy" travel buddy doin whatever against the cliff. :)

The Sandstone cliffs at Tunnel Beach

And I was standin in one of the sandstone cliffs! Was scary to go up as it was bit slippery and yeah windy - but let's do this! And Those few minutes of standin high...just felt wonderful!

The Tunnel in and out.

The tunnel in and out, we have to clim back up.

Yeay, we made it!

And we made it out before the rain pours down. :)
