January 1-7

My first week of taking a photo everyday for a 365 project! I'm just going to be posting these weekly to make it a bit easier on myself, and I hope to really learn more photography skills and just get creative, try things I normally wouldn't.

So to start:

New Year's Day 2017

January 1st

New Year's Day fell on a Sunday this year. Me and my husband went to church. Yup, we got up and went, almost didn't, but felt it was a good start to the new year. Turns out it was pretty packed! They still had a lot of their pretty Christmas decorations out, and bringing my camera with me ;p, I got it out at the end of the service and took this picture near the window.

Origami Cranes

Origami Cranes

January 2

What do you take a picture of when it's freezing and gloomy outside? :( You look around the house and try to get creative, that's what you do! lol... I had these cranes hanging up by the window that me and my sister in law made for my wedding this past fall(we folded at least a hundred!). Took a bunch of shots and it was really hard to pick one out, but I settled on this one in the end.

Deer in the yard

Why hello there!

January 3

Another gloomy, cold, rainy day. But that didn't deter a couple of deer...not that they had any warm, comfy place to go back home to. A little later after I grabbed this and a few other shots of the 2 of them, I found one sitting down, way back in the yard, just munching on some grass or bushes, the raining drizzling down on it. Unfortunately it was too far and partially obscured for me to get a good picture. But was funny to see!

Trees, landscape, outside

Beautiful Winter Day

January 4

Well today turned out to be beautiful! Chilly, but the sun was shining and inviting you to get some fresh air. I love breaks like this from the winter gloom!

Just 2 pigeons...and a POSofA apparently

January 5

It's pretty neat what you see when you zoom in on parts of buildings. Ok, the 2 pigeons are cute, wish I could have gotten even closer, but POSofA..hm..... ok, I literally just looked that up. I had no idea what it meant, this is on an old building with a date of 1901 on it. POSofA according to one site I found stands for:

"The Patriotic Order Sons of America (P.O.S. of A.) is one of America's oldest patriotic and fraternal societies still in existence."  Interesting the things you find out about the places you live near.

Towards Downtown Scranton

January 6

That's the Times building in downtown Scranton, PA up ahead. I love taking pictures from the road.

Russian Christmas!

January 7

So I'm cheating here a little. I didn't actually take this picture today. I took it on January...5th :( But, in my defense, the Christmas tree is still there. Along with those same lights. And that same little Nativity set made out of clothespins and felt that I made when I was a little kid that my Mom gave back to me and I don't know what to do with so I put it on the Christmas tree!.... Ok, ok, so...I didn't get any interesting pictures today. Just some photos of my cat. And it's Russian Christmas today. And you'll see lots of photos of my cat I'm sure throughout this 365 project. And I just liked this one better...and....ok, I'll quit rambling now ;p
