While visiting my parents here in Texas, my dad was taken into the ER, (we thought he had a stroke) and it turned out he has 2 malignant lymphoma tumors in his brain. They did surgery this morning to remove the one near his temple (the tiny one in the middle of his brain stem is inoperable). After an MRI, the Dr. said he didn't like the fact that there was still some of the tumor still in there. They knew they wouldn't get it all, but he was unhappy with what was still there. He said there could still be some hiding behind that area. So they whisked him back down to do another surgery. In about 2 weeks, they will start treatment (chemo and/or radiation), but in the mean time, the steriods will keep the tumors from progressing. They are hoping that the chemo will also take care of the tiny lentle sized one in the brain stem.
