Closing a Business

Sadly, the pharmacy that I have worked at for 22 years, closed it's doors on Thursday. We worked the rest of that day, and all day yesterday to take it apart, disassemble shelves, counters, computers, pretty much gut it out. We were tired, sweaty (our first 80 degree day this year, of course, and no air conditioning), filthy, and ready to be done!!

All the stuff is off the walls, all the OTC racks are gone. Just taking things apart.

Olga, the pharmacist and pharmacy manager, getting ready to start the demolition.

Al, the other pharmacis, packing up his compounding area.

We are very sweaty!!

…and very dirty!!

Taking a MUCH needed lunch and water break.

I can't believe that behind all the peg board and shelving, that the wall were actually painted those awful colors!!

Look where the drug aisles were…..all those years of waxing around them, YUK!

We are done, and OUTTA there. I really am gonna miss everyone. I see them every single day. They are like family. BUT, we are getting together tonight, along with some employees, from years past, for one last dinner together.

That's a lot of years to work in one place....too bad it's closing. Is it a victim of the current economy?
