Mt. Gaya 2019-02

Though it is dated as February, I climbed up this mountain on the very next day I did Mt. Jiri. It did ache on my two thighs as well as my two arms and I had to move my body on very slowly. Quite unlike the day before, I has clear sky with almost no cloud but the strong sun light came about with very strong wind. Heavy snow fall on the day before made it very hard for me to go on moving as well.

I had a privilege to go on hiking through the virgin snow for a couple of hours as well as to be the first one to hit the mountain top. I was lucky to have a chance to be in the very middle of land of snow.

There is no one but me around 1km of radius. Think I love such a feeling of isolation.

Such beautiful photos! It's well worth braving the cold and hard conditions to enjoy views like these! Thanks for sharing them.

I'm happy that you like them. I don't know from when but in most of hiking, the harder the hiking is, the better view I could get. Though quite painful physically, my heart is about to burst out seeing picturesque scenery. That's why I go on hiking to those mountains. smile

Hi, Heike. Thank you that you like them. I sweat a lot and feel painful all the way up to the peak as well as down from the peak but a high expectation of watching good scenery and getting pictures are the two strong drivers make me move on. Never mind. I can find a decent mountain for you to guide you. I have a dream to hiking around Tirol area after watching your pictures. smile
