Oh boy our Little Free Library (LFL) has been up for a whole year! This is something exciting that has happened in our home. Well now for an update from my last post {here}

We put it up, our grass died, the flowers died too. We are literally in the middle of ripping up the grass right now to redo the front yard. That's pretty much why it's no updated photo of the LFL right now. There are books in there and it's all still doing very well. I have been so excited about this blessing. We do plan to remake the whole thing because I re-purposed a dresser from the thrift store to make this. The bad thing is, when you try things for the first time you find out what doesn't work. Well, I'm finding out that particle board isn't the greatest thing to put outside even if you do seal it! Doh! We replaced the door on the front because the little cute wood pieces I used fell apart. So if you want to make one, research and use weather resistant materials to save yourself some time. I'm pretty much a finicky artist and the LFL falling apart gives me a reason to update it to a new look! So coming soon, a newer updated one hopefully the yard will be finished too.

Well after we put up the LFL the friend who introduced me to these wonderful gifts passed away. She was a indescribable wonderful being. So I decided to dedicate our family's LFL to her. You can see the plaque I made on the post in the photo below. I'm going to keep my writing about her short because I can't write about her without missing her deeply and going to tears. She was a dear friend.

Eek! If you are one to pay attention to what's going on in the background, you will see there are some things on the front porch. Well my dear husband and son were going on a missions trip overseas and we were taking donations for a yard sale that was going to happen. Ugh! One day I will have that neat looking front yard! All that stuff is cleared off, and now the grass is ripped up! Doh!

Andreia's plaque. What a blessing of a friend!

Above: is the board I made to honor our family friend, Andreia Gray who introduced me to the Little Free Libraries. She loved reading and even spent time reading to kids at the library. Its the least I could do for someone so precious.

Below: Eh, looking good or not, here's a quick photo complete with my own reflection in the window! As you can see, we need to re work this beauty. Let me encourage you to build your own LFL by visiting www.littlefreelibrary.org
