Since it was our first weekend in Auckland, the two other Cal Poly interns and I decided to stay around Auckland so that we could get to know the area better before exploring more of the country. On Sunday, we took a ferry to Waiheke Island, which was about 30 minutes from Auckland.

Waiheke Island is known to have plentiful wineries and hiking trails. Since we went on a rainy day, we mostly took advantage of all of the wineries.

These are some of the wines that we tasted from a winery called Goldie Estate, which is the oldest winery on the island.
