This morning we woke up early to get to the airport so that we could take a helicopter ride to the start of our trek. We ended up waiting for about 3 hours at the airport until we could leave because of bad weather. This is a picture from the helicopter ride.

This is another picture from the helicopter ride, close to where we ended up landing.

Since the weather was bad where we were going to land (it was at a higher elevation), we ended up landing at a lower elevation in rice paddy in a very small village. The villagers all came out of their homes to see what was going on, as shown above.

We began our hike up to where we were supposed to start trekking that day. When we left the helicopter landing site, we were told it would be about a 20 minute walk up there. To begin the hike, we all crossed this waterfall.

When we were already 3 hours into this "20 minute hike", we made it to this nice view! Luckily we had enough food and water for everyone to have throughout the day.

We made it to the location we were supposed to land around 4 hours after we began hiking. Since it was getting dark, we stayed in that village for the night. Some villagers let us sleep in their home and even cooked us dinner. They also gave us all black tea, which I'm sipping on in this image.
