We got up at 6:30 in order to make it to the train and into London by 10 a.m. for our theatre tours and shows that we had to see for classes today.

And I rang my professor with a, “Heeeeey, Helen,” that totally threw her off.

We got scared by a ghostly actress/prostitute (character) in the tunnel in the Drury Lane Theatre, then ran across the river to be interested, then bored, at the National Theatre, then ran back across the river to catch a matinee of Oliver at Drury Lane, and Catherine, Stephanie, and I adored it. And we think we felt a ghost. And I cried.

We went to stage door and met Jodie Prenger, who played Nancy and won the “I'd Do Anything” tv search, and she made faces with us in pictures and was amazingly sweet. Then we ate McDonalds on the steps of St. Martin in the Fields, the actors' church, and watched Trafalgar Square and heard a protest outside the Zimbabwe House.

We rushed to the Barbican for the evening show, Shun-Kin, that we had to see for class, got lost both on the way to the theatre and in the building, got to our seats, found out we were separated, and pouted. Puppets, a show in Japanese, and separated seats? No bueno.

But it was amazing.

We got back to Charing Cross, got food (since we'd been neglecting eating), sat in Trafalgar Square and watched Big Ben chime and talked, then caught the 11:40 train home and collapsed into bed around 2 (or 3…) am.

And it is my father's birthday. Happy birthday!
