Belize - Estel's, Belikin Beer, The Local Lizards & Wild Mango's

We had breakfast this morning at Roger's recommendation at Estel's - the first of 4 visits during our stay. Our breakfasts of burritos, refried beans, Belizean coffee and the infamous “fry jacks” were trip standouts! Later we explored San Pedro Town a bit before heading back to our condo. When we arrived we found a FANTASTIC basket of cheese, crackers and wine from Wine de Vine from our good friend Jeanne Reeder. Thanks Jeanne! That evening we celebrated Rob C's 30th birthday in San Pedro Town at Wild Mango's which turned out to be one of our favorite restaurants from the trip. Later that night back at the condo we had chocolate cake from a local bakery!

The stretch of road between our condo and the bridge to San Pedro Town was a bit of an adventure in a golf cart due to recent rains. Much of this area is also under construction with new condos being built.

The restaurant had sand floors inside and out and was open to the beach offering a great view of the ocean while you ate.

After breakfast we moved from coffee and pineapple juice to a round of Belikin's - at 9:30am…

The best beer EVER.

Roger had stocked our condo with beer, soda and water when we arrived. When it was time to refill the water pitcher we weren't sure how to get the top off the big jug as there was no tab (or so we thought). Instead we punched a hole in the top with the end of a knife and proceeded to SQUEEZE the water from the jug into the pitcher (and all over the counter and floor). We did this maybe 3 or 4 times before finding the tab to the top to remove the cap completely.

These lizards hung out along the sea wall most of the trip.

While it was overcast this day and looks like it might be cold, it was actually in the 80's the entire time.

Our dinner at Wild Mango's was amazing!

Shaun loved the Chicken Tortilla Soup… best when paired with a Belikin.
