August 25- dinner party foods

We had a small dinner party last night (ourselves and 2 couples). I wish I had photographed more of it, but a.) I was busy hostessing ;-) and b.) It gets dark at 8 instead of 9 here these days, and even with a couple of lamps and lots of candles, it was still pretty dark (for photos).

Above, some of the apps/starters: gazpacho “shooters”. I also put out some lemon chili almonds and a small crudite plate with spinach dip.

In addition, I made a big ol' pitcher of key lime mojitos (thanks to Lisa D. for helping to squeeze the key limes!).

We also had a salad caprese on a bed of arugla with lemon olive oil and balsamic reduction, and a cheese plate with local grapes and home made mini-toasts. (not shown). Will have leftovers of those for lunch today, I think.

We didn't even get to the gourmet vanilla ice cream with almond cookie and home made rasberry sauce, although a had a small taste of that myself last night after I cleaned up. ;-)

      I am seriously impressed with that spread. The food and the table look fantastic.
