This was a beautiful day at the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge. We did the short hike (a little less than two miles) and the auto tour (about six miles). Surprisingly, we saw more birds on the auto tour this day.

This bald eagle was on my side of the car so I had to take the picture. Tom would've broken the rules and gotten out of the car, but there were too many cars around us, forcing him to hand over his camera and entrust the picture to me.

This picture doesn't do the snow geese justice. The air was thick with them–a spectacular sight.

That's me in the picture!

Snow on the coastal range.
