Happy "Bird-Day" Grandma!

Ring-Billed Gull

Rufous Hummingbird

Spotted Sandpiper posing on the deck for Tom

The Violet-Green Swallow also seems to be posing for a photo…I think Tom caught it's best side!

Western Bluebird

Western Grebes showing off their courtship ritual at Eagle Lake

Western Scrub Jay

Western Tanager

Black-Necked Stilts…one of my favorite Eagle Lake birds!

American Avocet

American White Pelican flying over our bay at Eagle Lake….I think we got this shot from the kayak.

The avocet made it in here twice!

We love our Bald Eagles up at Eagle Lake

Grandma's least favorite bird….the Brown Headed Cowbird. They are gluttons when it comes to bird seed….they don't leave any for the other birds.

Bullock's Oriole

I know I said the Stilt was my favorite bird up at the lake….but the California Quail is really my favorite!

Tom got these Caspian Tern's at the Thermalito Afterbay….but they're also seen up in the mountains.

Eared Grebes

Forster's Tern

Green-Tailed Towhee

House Wren building it's nest right in front of our deck.

Killdeer

We have enjoyed viewing all of these birds up at Eagle Lake with Grandma Naoma over the years. Grandma lives in Boise now, but we thought we'd bring a little bit of her hometown area to her on her 97th birthday. Happy Birthday Naoma!

Happy day to Grandma - and a happy dY for me, with these gorgeous images! You capture birds better than anyone else on PB! I love the hummer, the jay and the quail most. Gotta go show these to Larry....
