Week 11 of 52 - Simple

by Matthew Tiegs March. 19, 2017 1710 views

Hello again everyone!

This weeks topic - Simple

Other choices this week were: Spoon / Play / Opposites / Lips / Green / Table

Headed out to 50 Point this morning to photograph the old piers. Last week they had ice hanging down to the waterline, so that's what I was hoping for. Instead, with the change in weather, a lot of the ice had melted, but had some pretty high wave action and grey skies. Perfect for really long exposures.

Got some shots I'm happy with. Probably more than normal! Here's my choice for 'Simple':

Simple - Driftwood on the Shore

ISO 200, 27mm, f/18, 40 seconds

And here's another shot from this morning:

50 Point Pier

Very beautiful!
Did you make these photos with a tripod?

Thanks Polina! Yes, I use my tripod for pretty much all of my landscape shooting. This one had a 40 second exposure, so tripod was a must.

Thanks Josip! I like the site for it's structure, and you can always learn if you pay attention. Even this morning, I got some tips from another photographer out on the beach that I'll be trying next time!

If any of you have any questions or comments about my work or technique, feel free to ask!
